Dorfmeister: A Different Drummer Selection
A Different Drummer Selection, put together and mixed by Richard Dorfmeister (Kruder & Dorfmeister, Tosca), celebrates the Birmingham label's tenth anniversary. The artists and tracks on this album feature ambient dub and trip-hop. Dorfmeister's selection work and sequencing do an admirable job of displaying the label's range, from Noiseshaper's roots-influenced "Movin' Together" to Rockers Hi Fi's "Sexy Selector," which blends its riddim with ambient Detroit techno shadings. This will easily appeal to Dorfmeister and Different Drummer heads alike.
Hi-Fidelity All Stars Volumes 1-5
Hi-Fidelity Dub Sessions is a series of dub collections compiled and released by Guidance Records. These collections don't compile classic Jamaican dub recordings from the '70s but rather more contemporary dub tracks, most of them produced by European artists.. The series features producers such as Waldeck, Dual Tone, Richard Dorfmeister, Seven Dub, and Small World. A Dubsession top pick.
Thievery Corporation: Babylon Rewound
This eight-track set has a lot in common with traditional Jamaican dub albums as it stretches out the tunes from the Richest Man in Babylon album. These tunes don't really deserve this treatment, but they're actually improved in the remixes. Getting lost in Thievery Corporation's dubby remixes is easy, since lazier and looser are qualities their buttoned-up Richest Man could have benefited from. There's more sensi and less sensibility than usual, which makes Babylon Rewound necessary for fans and worth checking for dabblers.
The Troublemakers - Doubts and Convictions
Coming from the land of fine wine and romance is the electronica trio Troublemakers, and like their French counterparts such as AIR and Dimitri From Paris, this eclectic group of musicians composes a selective sound when it comes to defining dance music.
Easy All Stars - Dub Side of The Moon

I described it to him and he said - "oh, like Pink Floyd reggae? yeah, I've heard that - its wicked cool." Almost 20 years later, a Reggae Pink Floyd album emerges. Circle back around, and come down in a rub a dub style. Disya one has an all star line up of reggae musicians and will mekya smile. The opening tracks Breathe and Time are exceptionally well done, and bring a new dimension to the Dark Side of The Moon.
